Education & Training Opportunities
We offer a suite of education and training opportunities to meet the needs of every team and organization. Our expert facilitators can customize the content and style of workshops to ensure engagement and learning is optimized. All of our education and training is experiential, with activities and small group work designed to emphasize understanding and knowledge. Our work is grounded in evidence-based practice and theory, as well as the lived experience of facilitators and participants.
We draw from psychology, neuroscience, communication and behavioural theory to provide a integrated framework of learning across disciplines.

Foundations Certificate
This full three-day training combines three of our most popular workshops to provide participants with the foundational principles and skills of generative communication. Generative communication skills elicit, amplify and reinforce inherent strengths and resources that improve traits associated with mental health and wellbeing including: coping, resilience, critical thinking, executive functioning, self-reflection, social engagement and self-regulation.
- Introduction to humanistic/solution-focused communication
- Mastering the Basics
- Opening the Door to Advanced Practice
These workshops are often delivered as six half days, or any combination of full and half days and that work within the constraints of your organization.
Difficult Conversations
During this workshop participants will learn to confidently navigate difficult conversations, deliver challenging news and help to resolve conflict using solution-focused principles and language skills. Participants will learn strategies to help facilitate and manage challenging and difficult conversations with clients, families and colleagues, using humanistic, solution-focused approaches.
Compassion vs Empathy
Healthcare practitioners are often encouraged to be empathetic and compassionate to improve patient-related outcomes and satisfaction. In fact, compassion is considered essential to quality patient care. However, there are different outcomes for clinicians’ own wellbeing associated with empathy and compassion. This workshop provides practical skills and tools for clinicians to help them practice compassion without empathetic distress.
Generous Listening
It is often the quality of our listening and not the wisdom of our words that defines our communication skills. There are only two roles in any communication process, a speaker and a receiver. Most of us are pretty good at speaking, very few of us are good at listening and yet to be a good receiver we need to be good listeners. Our ability to communicate influences our mental health and wellbeing, which means our listening skills influence our mental and wellbeing. Join us to learn the skill of generous listening: getting comfortable with silence, listening for strengths and resources, leading from behind, presencing, not knowing and curiosity, holding space.
Beautiful Constraints
Every team, every organization faces constraints. Post pandemic many people are still functioning far below their best selves. There seems to a new normal of stress and anxiety that is threatening our workplaces and personal lives in ways that are debilitating. These constraints can be further amplified by system constraints of time, resources, and finances. In this compelling workshop participants learn how to identify different components of constraints, how to leverage and reframe them in ways that enable aspirational goal setting despite the constraint. We learn to reshape narratives, discourses and stories that are hopeful and enduring.
Perfectly Good Enough
Imagine knowing that good enough is better than perfect: better for your mental health and wellbeing, better for your effectiveness and productivity, better for culture, better for your clients. In this engaging and essential workshop we explore the difference and science between mediocrity, good enough and perfectionism, as well as the skills and practices to be perfectly good enough.
Flourishing for Everyone: Facilitating for Optimal Functioning
In this workshop, participants will explore the concept of optimal functioning and flourishing through the neurobiology of language. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of how words and thoughts shape our emotional and behavioral responses. Participants will learn skills to help them better understand emotions and behaviours while also helping their clients to self regulate, self reflect and move towards optimal functioning.
